Mizoram Agricultural Board Extended Thanks To Niti Aayog For Declaring The State The Ginger Capital Of India

Mizoram Agricultural Board extended its thanks to NITI Aayog for declaring the state as the Ginger Capital of India. For this, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma held a meeting with the members of the Mizoram Agricultural Marketing Board (MAMB) in which the board expressed appreciation.

NITI Aayog declared Mizoram as the Ginger Capital of India

Furthermore, the meeting evaluated the reports of activities undertaken during the current year, including the high-level stakeholders’ consultation for Mizoram Ginger produce, organised by the government of Mizoram and NITI Aayog on November 24. Notably, the consultation was one of the largest official meetings ever conducted in Delhi, specifically for a Mizoram-related agenda. The consultation was graced by various central ministers with nearly 60 investors in ginger trading, ginger cultivation and processing. In the course of this event, NITI Aayog declared Mizoram as the Ginger Capital of India. Not only this, but it also recognises the state’s reputation for cultivating high-quality ginger and its rapid growth in ginger production in recent years.

Mizoram Agricultural Board reinstated their commitment to ensure safe and high-quality ginger production and underscored the need to further expand organic ginger cultivation.

For the Future, MAMB is all set to host a Ginger Buyer-Seller meet on December 5-6 at Aijal Club, where even buyers from India would participate. The event is expected to facilitate new trade agreements for the future ginger harvest. At the same time, the new Ginger Processing Unit is also set to be inaugurated in the next year.
