Dr. Prem Garg Extended Invitation to Gambia for BIRC 2025; Key Discussions Held on Rice Trade

Dr. Prem Garg, National President of the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF), recently met with Gambia’s Industry Minister, Mr. Babucarr O. Joof, and Gambia’s Ambassador to India, Mr. Mustapha Jawara, at the Gambia Embassy in New Delhi. During the meeting, Dr. Garg extended an invitation to Gambia to participate in the upcoming Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025.

Minister Babucarr O. Joof welcomed the invitation and confirmed his attendance at the event along with a delegation of 14 rice importers from Gambia.

Furthermore, a meaningful discussion also took place on strengthening rice trade ties between India and Gambia. Not only this, but Gambia’s Industry Minister also proposed the establishment of a warehouse in Gambia to support rice imports. In response, Dr. Garg assured full support and cooperation for the project.

Meanwhile, preparations for BIRC 2025, the world’s largest rice conference, are in full swing, which is scheduled to be held on30th and 31st October 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Interestingly, theevent will bring together over 3,500 participants, including rice importers, exporters, traders, stakeholders, and industry leaders from more than 100 countries.

Notably, BIRC 2025 is poised to be a game-changer for the global rice industry, generating significant excitement and anticipation across the sector.
