Unseasonal rains and less snowfall are affecting the production of Apples in Himachal Pradesh this year. Himachal Pradesh is one of the leading producers of Apples, however less snowfall, unseasonal rains, and infections of fungal diseases are raising concerns about the total figure of apple production in Himachal Pradesh.
Experts are expecting a decrease in Apple Prices by September as Kashmiri apples will reach the market which will further lead to a decrease in the prices of Apple.
Possibility of Decline in Apple Production
Experts in the field and apple producers have anticipated a decline of 5 to 10 percent in apple production in Himachal which may decrease the profit margin of producers and other involved in the production of Apple.
Torrential rains have damaged the apple crop in some areas of the state whereas some apple orchards have also been affected by a fungal infection called Alternaria.
