Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced in the Legislative Assembly on Friday that a new policy will be devised to accelerate the construction of agricultural roads by collecting funds from various departments’ schemes as the state government has decided to implement a coordinated and detailed plan to make sure that roads connect to every farmer’s farm in the state.
Discussion on interesting suggestions on agriculture
On a related note, BJP MLA Abhimanyu Pawar had given some interesting suggestions regarding agriculture in the Assembly. Moreover, other MLAs also participated in this issue by raising sub-questions, mentioning that farmers do not have proper roads for transporting agricultural output in many areas. A permanent and comprehensive policy is needed to resolve this issue.
The committee will submit a report within a month.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “A committee will be formed to address the problems of farmers and submit its report within a month. In this scheme, the government intends to complete the field work in a skill-based manner by coordinating funds from various schemes.” Furthermore, he added that discussions will be held on the withdrawal of 50% of the funds from the ’25-15′ scheme under the Gram Sadak Yojana for farmers
Key points clarified by Revenue Minister Bawankule
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced the following significant decisions. The final decision on agricultural cases will be limited to the sub-divisional officers to save time.
1) Emphasis on the inclusion of farmers in allotment letters, organisation of Lok Adalats, levelling and surveying of roads, and recording of roads in village maps.
2) Henceforth, it will be made a condition that every farm road should be at least 12 feet wide.
3) The scheme of numbering roads through the Jamabandi Commissioners will be implemented.
4) The process of creating a separate account head will begin using funds from the Employment Guarantee Scheme, Rural Development and Revenue Departments.
5) The work of the farmers will be completed by drawing up a time-bound program.
