SGS the leading Swiss Company for Quality Control & Assurance celebrated its 75 years of presence in India on 4th July 2025. Addressing the glittering function on the occasion the Chief Guest Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry complimented the organisation and said that “India is a quality conscious country and the innovation that we experience in countries where we export, whether it’s the precision, engineering, & the quality SGS has played a crucial role in making that happen.” He further added that instead of having multiple grades of standard for quality control there will be only 1 quality standard. Thereby, the quality in domestic & international export market will be of higher standard for which India is trying to establish the best laboratory and equipment.
Addressing the gathering Mrs. Géraldine Picaud, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at SGS said that “SGS opened its first laboratory in Worli Mumbai back in 1950 and thereafter expanded in several cities of India ensuring very strict compliance for quality assurance.

SGS displayed the congratulatory message on stage by Dr. Prem Garg, the National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF). Dr. Garg, on the occasion of celebration of 75 years of SGS in India applauded the excellent performance in terms of quality checking and assurance which is increasing the trust of the Indian produce which has been exported out of India. SGS also played the congratulatory message by Isha Garg, Director of Vi Exports India complimented SGS for partnering with Vi Exports India &for helping various brands of Shri Lal Mahal basmati rice reach international markets.
