The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in India, New Delhi celebrated its 65th National Independence and Unification Celebration of the Federal Republic of Somalia on 1st July 2025 in New Delhi, India. His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Odowa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India presided over the function marking the 65th Anniversary of Somalia’s independence and unification.
The celebration featured impressive displays of cultural performances and events reflecting the traditions of Somalia. Addressing the dignitaries at the ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Odowa, acknowledged the important bilateral role played by India between both countries and furtherexpressed that Somalia shares mutually respectful traditional ties with India apart from both countries sharing an excellent trade relationship.
On behalf of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Odowa awarded ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ to Dr. Prem Garg, the National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) in recognition of his contribution to fostering a stronger tie with the Federal Republic of Somalia.
