Wheat price in some states have reach above MSP, providing relief to farmers. As per the Minium Support Price (MSP) the price of wheat was Rs 2425 per quintal, which has now gone up in several states. Farmers are preferring to sell their wheat in the open market due to better prices being offered by private traders.
This hike in wheat prices have given financial relief to the farmers in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. However, hike in wheat prices is dependent on market demand, government policies, and availability of stock.

The central government has so far procured 30 million tonnes of wheat during the 2025-26 Rabi marketing season running from April to June, it is the highest government procurement of wheat after 2021-22.
