Promising action will be taken against the sale of substandard seeds and pesticides, said Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday. While briefing reporters after the conclusion of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, agriculture minister said, “The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan was very successful. We directly engaged with 1.34 crore farmers across 1.43 lakh villages in 721 districts.”
Union Agriculture minister in the press conference also hinted on amending the Seeds Act and Pesticides Act. Marking the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan a success, the agriculture minister said the centre will initiate several policy changes to meet the demands raised by farmers during these interactions.
