Yogi Govt. has made a big announcement for the paddy farmers. Subsidy will be given to farmers cultivating paddy, the main crop of Kharif Season. The state government will give 30 to 50 percent subsidy on different varieties of paddy seeds.
With this announcement, paddy farmers now need to deposit the remaining amount for paddy seeds after deducting the subsidy amount. Earlier, farmers had to pay the full price of the seeds and later the subsidy money was sent to their account. Discounts will be available on varieties like IR-64, Sias-One and HUR-917. The government has planned to provide 759 quintals of paddy seeds in the Kharif season, out of which 640 quintals of seeds have already been arranged so far.
Paddy seeds will only be distributed at government seed warehouses only through POS machines, for which farmers need to register in advance. Seeds will not be allotted without POS machines. Farmers can take seeds by visiting the block office with their land records and Aadhaar card.
This announcement by government will help farmers get cheap and high quality seeds with fast and transparent government procedure.
