Farmers Who Are Not Eligible for Payments

According to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, neither a husband nor a wife can avail of the benefits this scheme at the same time. If anyone attempts to do so, the government will declare them as fraudulent beneficiaries and initiate a recovery process to reclaim the funds. Not only this, but also if any member of a farming family pays income tax, the family will not be eligible to get the benefits of this scheme.

So basically, if either the husband or the wife filed an income tax return during the previous financial year, they will not be entitled to the benefits of this scheme. Besides this, if a farmer cultivates land taken on lease or rent from another farmer, they will not be eligible for the scheme's benefits in such a scenario. Ownership of the land is a mandatory prerequisite for the PM Kisan scheme. Apart from this, if a farmer or any member of their family holds a constitutional post, they will not be considered eligible to receive the benefits.
