Interestingly, Chhattisgarh Farmers cultivate numerous traditional rice varieties, including popular names such as Jiraphool, Kelo, Basmati, Chinnor, Dubraj, and Kali Mooch. Furthermore, Chhattisgarh is home to several medicinal paddy varieties, including Gathuan, Bhejari, Alwa, and Laicha.

When the Kelo Organic Jawaphool rice, dispatched from the Lailunga region, arrived in Garkon village within Ladakh's Kargil district, the locals were over the moon. Packets of the rice were opened ceremonially by local villagers and elected representatives. During this event, the rice's exceptional quality and purity captivated the hearts of all local people. The locals of Garkon village in the Kargil district are applauding the traits of Kelo Organic Jawaphool rice, describing it as truly magnificent.





In addition, the villagers have extended their thanks to the administration and officials for ensuring the successful delivery of this aromatic rice to Ladakh. Generally, the Kelo Organic Jawaphool rice is cultivated in the tribal-dominated region of Lailunga in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district, and it is truly exceptional. Not only this, but the rice is cultivated using entirely natural and organic methods. This aromatic rice thrives and develops within the unique climatic conditions specific to the Lailunga region. As per the information provided by officials regarding its cultivation, this rice is being farmed by farmers in the tribal-dominated Lailunga region of the Raigarh district. Apparently, around five Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs) have been established in the area to facilitate its cultivation, bringing together a network of over a thousand farmers. Interestingly, Digital media platforms such as YouTube and various other social media channels are being utilised to promote and popularise this particular variety of rice. Furthermore, the rice is receiving substantial support from the district administration. Moreover, farmers are being provided with technical guidance, training, and seeds to maintain their productivity and quality standards, as well as to foster further development. Additionally, continuous efforts are underway to organize production and marketing activities through farmer groups and Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs). Kelo organic Jawaphool rice has now successfully established a distinct identity for itself.



Reports indicate that the cultivation of this aromatic rice variety has led to a remarkable increase in farmers' incomes. The demand for this rice has been witnessing a steady upward trend. While a significant demand for this rice exists within Chhattisgarh, its popularity is also growing across other states of the country, such as Chennai, Telangana, Ladakh, and Bengaluru. Ultimately, this rice has now reached Garkon village in the Kargil district of Ladakh; the local residents are delighted and are lauding its attributes as its aroma and quality, which have exceeded their expectations.
