India sets historic record with 357 million tonnes of foodgrain production in 2025

Highlighting the foodgrain production of India in 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has achieved a historic milestone in the current year by establishing a production record of 357 million tonnes of foodgrains. The Prime Minister further said that this marks a significant milestone in the country’s agricultural growth.

India, the nation which already holds the notion of चावल उत्पादन में प्रथम देश, has increased its foodgrain output by 100 million tonnes over the past decade. This historic growth highlight’s the efforts of Indian farmers and the farming sector towards achieving agricultural growth and self-reliance. PM Modi in his Mann Ki Baat, said that India has increased its foodgrain production by 100 million tonnes in 10 years. Hailing the contribution of youth in India’s agri sector, Modi recalled the incidence of the Natural Farming Exhibition in Coimbatore and said that “he is depply impressed by the efforts being made in South India to promote natural farming. So many young, highly qualified professionals are now embracing the field of natural farming.”

Record Foodgrain Production Backed by Collective Efforts of Govt. & Indian Farmers

Record foodgrain production in India is backed by collective efforts of govt. and farmers at ground level. Notably, on November 19, PM Modi released the 21st instalment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi to beneficiaries and inaugurated the Natural Farming Exhibition in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Further, promotion of products that upheld GI Tags in India has also motivated farmers to shift themselves towards farming. During his visit in Coimbatore, Modi met with local farmers, interacted with them, and inspected the exhibition, which showcased various agricultural products, along with a corner showcasing the growth of plants and crops.
