The Yogi Adityanath government has turned vision into reality by ensuring payment of their paddy procurement within 48 hrs. UP government turned its vision of “Samridhh kisan, Shashakt Uttar Pradesh” into reality for over 1.39 lakh farmers. The state’s Food and Civil Supplies Department took charge of the moment and ensured that farmers face no inconvenience. Notably, Paddy procurement began on October 1 in UP and is receiving strong support from farmers. As per the data obtained, from October 1 to November 28, more than 1.39 lakh farmers sold 8.28 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, and more than 5.44 lakh farmers have registered for paddy sales.
UP, has achieved the milestone by establishing 4,225 paddy procurement centres, with farmers selling their produce at the government established centres and receiving benefits under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme within 48 hrs. By November 28, total paddy procurement has reached 8.28 lakh MT from 1,39,040 farmers.
Integrated Approach by UP Govt. Ensures Maximum Benefit
The UP govt. has ensured maximum government for farmers by using e-POP machines for biometric verification, procurement only from registered farmers, the elimination of middlemen, and 48-hour payment processing time. Record-level procurement, timely support to rice mills, and farmer-friendly measures have strengthened farmer incomes, trust, and self-reliance. The vision of “Samridhh kisan, Shashakt Uttar Pradesh” is now becoming a reality.
For the unversed, Paddy is being procured at MSP rates of ₹2,369 per quintal for common variety and ₹2,389 per quintal for Grade-A variety.
