The Yogi Adityanath Led UP government has started a subsidy plan on setting up a 10 tonnes Oil extraction unit in Uttar Pradesh. UP government in its endeavor to boost the agriculture sector is constantly granting subsidies on set up and purchase of several farming-based plants and equipment’s. In this sequence, the government has now released a notification that. FPO-cooperative societies will get grants on the establishment of 10 tonnes oil extraction unit. To avail this benefit, one must apply on the portal from 14 to 31 August. The grant will be 33 percent of the project cost or a maximum of Rs 9.90 lakh. For the unversed, FPO is a Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) (a collective of farmers) that is legally registered under the Cooperative Societies Act in India.
Registration is Mandatory to Get Subsidy on the Set-up of 10 Tonnes Oil Extraction Unit
All interested FPO-cooperative societies need to mandatory register on ‘agridarshan.up.gov.in’ or ‘UP FPO Shakti Portal.up.gov.in’ to avail the benefits of the scheme. FPOs and cooperative societies receiving grants must have three years of experience and 200 farmers as members.

Anil Kumar Pathak, Additional Director of Agriculture (Oilseeds / Pulses) in this context said that online application can be made via the given website and must be made between 14th to 31st August. Under the National Mission on Edible Oil (Oil Seeds) year 2025-26, the grant will be received on setting up of 10 tonne capacity oil extraction unit for FPOs and cooperative societies registered on the portal of Agriculture Department ‘Agri Darshan.up.gov.in’ or ‘UP FPO Shakti Portal.up.gov.in’.
Eligibility Criteria for FPO to Avail Subsidy on 10 tonnes Oil Extraction Unit
- Should be registered under Companies Act or Co-operative Act.
- Must have minimum 3 years of experience.
- There should be at least 200 farmers registered in the FPO or cooperative societies.
- The average annual turnover should be more than Rs 9 lakh in the last three years.
- There should be a minimum equity of Rs 3 lakh by farmers in the FPO.
- Registration of FPO on Shakti Portal is mandatory.
Eligibility Criteria for Co-operative Societies to Avail Subsidy on 10 tonnes Oil Extraction Unit
- Should be registered under Co-operative Society Act.
- The committee should have at least 3 years of work experience in the field of oilseed production, purchase, sale, processing etc. in the agricultural sector.
- At least 200 farmers should be registered in the cooperative societies.
- The average annual turnover should be more than Rs 9 lakh in the last three years.
The Additional Director of Agriculture also notified that the selection of the beneficiaries will be done through online lottery in front of the district level constituted committee.
