UP Agriculture Minister’s Stern Warning To Companies Over Fertiliser Shortage

Responding to the complaints of fertiliser shortage coming from the districts of the UP, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi held a meeting with all the fertiliser manufacturing companies and the organisations and warned them against supplying less fertiliser in the districts

The Agriculture Minister said that farmers are facing a fertiliser shortage due to a limited supply of fertilisers. KRIBHCO has supplied 36 per cent fertilisers so far, IFFCO 55 per cent, RCF 63 per cent, whereas IPL has supplied only eight per cent fertilisers. He stated that strict action will be taken if the remaining supply would not delivered soon, strict action will be taken. Additionally, KRIBHCO was instructed to get the remaining supply from the Shahjahanpur plant soon. NFL assured that it will make the remaining 14122 metric tons of urea available this month. RCF will send three racks of urea in three days. Whereas IFFCO is going to send 21 thousand metric tons of urea soon. Notably, only 5.37 lakh metric tons have been supplied till now, which indicates 59 per cent of the set target.

Not only this, a challan will also be introduced for unnecessarily leaving animals abandoned. The state government has now decided to form a management committee in every city to oversee the cow shelters in the city. It will have councillors and dignitaries of the cities as members. If cattle owners unnecessarily leave cattle, they will be challened based on the Body Act. Apart from this, Biogas plants will be set up in rural areas at low cost. The Gauseva Commission is taking the initiative. Participation of local cow shelters will be ensured for setting up biogas plants in rural areas. On Tuesday, July 29, Chairman of the Gauseva Commission Shyam Bihari Gupta held a key meeting related to the matter during which the company setting up the biogas plant also gave a presentation.
