UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in Mumbai to strengthen UK India Trade. Notably, Keir starmer is on his visit to India since he has assumed the charges. The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, and the Rt. Hon. Peter Kyle, UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, held a bilateral meeting in Mumbai. This visit by the UK’s PM is deemed to be the new move by both the nations to further strengthen the UK India trade relations.
UK India Trade: UK Signs $468 Million Missile Deal
India and the UK entered into a new deal to further strengthen their trade partnerships and signed $468 Million missile deal in which UK will supply missiles to India. The Prime Ministers signed agreements furthering the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA). Keir starmer in India arrived with a delegation of about 100 entrepreneurs, cultural representatives, and University Vice-chancellors for a two-day visit to take benefit of the opportunities brought about by the India-U.K. CETA signed in July.
This India UK defense deal has further strengthened the trade relations between the two nations, apart from the India UK defense deal, the British Film Institute (BFI) also hailed a pact with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). The ministers from both the nation reaffirmed their shared ambition to double their bilateral trade by 2030, by leveraging the complementarities between the two economies in areas such as advanced manufacturing, digital trade, clean energy, and services.
