India Surpasses China To Become The World’s Top Rice Producer
India has turned down China’s dominance that has resumed for years in the rice field. India has reached the top position in the world in terms of rice production by surpassing China. The country’s share in total global rice production has crossed more than 28%. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has also acknowledged India’s achievement.
Kerala Atta Distribution Restarts For Ration Cardholders: Rice Quota Adjusted Amid Shortage

The Kerala Food Safety Department has resumed atta distribution for blue and white ration card holders, offering up to two kilos at Rs 17 per kilo, whereas NPI card holders will get up to one kilo. The scheme was earlier suspended due to wheat shortages. Meanwhile, the rice quota for white cardholders has been reduced to two kilos following shortages caused by extra Christmas-season distribution.

Vietnam Certifies 71,000 Tonnes Of Low-Emission Green Rice, Industry Body Says

VietNam has harvested a new milestone in sustainable agriculture, with up to 71,000 tonnes of rice certified under the Low-Emission Green Vietnamese Rice label over the past two years, the Vietnam Rice Sector Association (VIETRISA) said on Wednesday. The label is granted by VIETRISA to rice produced in line with technical standards set under the One Million Hectare Programme and verified by commune-level authorities or accredited international organisations.
