The Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) organized a press conference to address growing concerns over the impact of the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict on Indian rice exports. The Press Conference was headed by Dev Garg, Vice President, Indian Rice Exporters Federation & Dr. Prem Garg, National President, Indian Rice Exporters Federation to share details about the upcoming Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025.
Addressing the media, IREF Vice President, Dev Garg stressed on the challenges exporters are facing due to regional conflicts in the Middle East. Mr. Garg added “Iran is India’s third-largest importer of rice. In the fiscal year 2024-25, Iran was projected to import around 1 million tonnes of rice from India. However, due to the current situation, only 3 to 3.5 lakh tonnes have been exported so far,”.
Dev Garg, Vice President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) shared updates on the much-awaited Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, which will be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 30 & 31st October 2025. The conference aims to strengthen the position of India as a key player in the global rice trade.
