Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched an instant crop loan scheme to empower the state’s farmers. He initiated it on a pilot basis in Dharmapuri on Sunday, 17 August. The scheme operates through the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies. Moreover, he handed over cheques to 18 beneficiaries.
What did the Tamil Nadu CM say besides the Crop Loan Scheme?
Besides this, the Tamil Nadu CM slammed Governor RN Ravi, accusing him of spreading “cheap politics.” The Chief Minister said Ravi was trying to discredit the DMK government. Stalin alleged that the Governor ridiculed the Dravidian Model and the Tamil language. Not only this, but he also accused him of using a non-existent Thirukkural to tarnish the state’s cultural identity.
Furthermore, Stalin dismisses the Governor’s claim of rising crimes against women in the state. He highlighted National Crime Records Bureau data and pointed out that Uttar Pradesh, a Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state, had the highest number of such crimes. Apart from this, he raised a question about how Tamil Nadu could attract over ₹10 lakh crore in investments if law and order were truly poor.
About Dravidian Model 2.0
At the event, Stalin said Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam would return to power in 2026. He called it “Dravidian Model 2.0” and said it would take the state to new heights. He described Tamil Nadu as a trendsetter in welfare and mentioned schemes like free bus travel for women. These have been adopted as models by other states.
