Uttar Pradesh received glory and bagged several awards in the National One District One Product (ODOP) 2024 Award Ceremony. Kala Namak Rice of Siddharthnagar under the ‘One District One Product (ODOP)’ program won the bronze award in the district category.

District Magistrate of Siddharthnagar Dr. Raja Ganapati R received the award from Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Jitin Prasad and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for the Kalanamak Rice at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi ‘One District One Product (ODOP)’ of Siddharthnagar. While receiving the award district magistrate of Siddharthnagar said that due efforts are been made to improving the quality of this rice and expand its market.
Every possible effort is being made by the Uttar Pradesh government and district administration to promote this rice. In late September 2024, the central government allowed the export of non-basmati rice, and around 500 metric tons were shipped to Singapore and Nepal. UP govt. is planning to establish a research centre with the help of IRRI (International Rice Research Institute) on Kalanamak rice which is expected to boost the export of Kalanamak rice.
