Shiv Sena (UBT) Leader Danve Accuses Govt. Of Sending Children’s Rice To Africa

On Wednesday, August 13, Shiv Sena UBT Leader Ambadas Danve accused the state government of sending government-supplied rice meant for Children to African Countries. He openly challenged the government to discuss this issue.

Tweet Explaining Children’s Rice to Africa

In a tweet on X(formerly Twitter), Danve stated that someone from the government should come forward and discuss this corruption issue. “Who is directly sending the government rice meant for children to Africa? Does the government know about this? Look at this new trick of corruption,” he added.

Furthermore, he cited the name of J.V. Grains Dealers in his tweet and mentioned that it was established for social work. But this organisation was given the contract for rice transportation in the Mumbai district. The attitude of Anil Kumar Gupta, associated with this organisation, is ‘saintly on the outside, thief on the inside.’ It has come to light that instead of using the profits earned by the organisation for social initiatives, this gentleman is using them for personal gain. This has become as clear as daylight through the audit of shareholding patterns.

Danve sent a letter to Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal

Not only this, but Danve also sent a letter explaining the issue to the Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal. In the letter, Danve mentioned that a registered charitable trust was originally established for social work, but it was awarded a transport contract for rice in the Mumbai district despite the transport contract being a commercial activity.

In addition, he alleged the trust’s majority shareholder also acted as its sub-contractor for transportation, violating the rules. Moreover, vehicles purchased with the trust’s funds were owned by the same individual, and profits from operations were transferred to his account, not being used for social causes and welfare. Surprisingly, the civil supplies minister asserted that he had not received any letter from Danve regarding the issue raised. He said: “Had I received a letter, I would have immediately responded,” Bhujbal said. He added that the issue is concerned with the child and women development department, not related to his department.
