It was inaugurated in Agartala by Tripura's Industry and Commerce Minister, Santana Chakma. The Virtual Trade Fair, launched in 2021, intends to expand the reach of Indian rubber products domestically and abroad and connect small and medium-sized enterprises with global buyers.
Acc. to Rubber Board, this initiative will boost India's role in international rubber trade
The Virtual Trade Fair is a digital platform where potential rubber exporters can showcase their rubber products. Buyers can view these virtual stalls online and negotiate directly with them. This strengthens networking opportunities between manufacturers, exporters, and potential investors, and bolsters the overall rubber industry ecosystem. The Rubber Board states that this initiative will further boost India's role in the international rubber trade and help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) gain recognition in the global market.
Special focus on Sustainable Natural Rubber
This year's event emphasises the concept of India's Sustainable Natural Rubber. It aims to promote environmentally friendly and future-ready rubber production. The fair promotes sustainable practices across the entire value chain of the rubber industry by establishing direct links between producers and global markets. The event was graced by the presence of Tripura's Industry and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte, Rubber Board Executive Director M. Vasanthagesan, Rubber Board Secretary-in-Charge Binoy K. Kurien, and Joint Rubber Production Commissioner N. Sali.
