Amid ongoing complaints from farmers, the license of a chemical company in Rajasthan has been cancelled following strict action taken on the instructions of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Notably, there had been continuous complaints against the pesticide manufacturing company HPM Chemicals and Fertilisers Limited.
The company, registered in Rajasthan, supplied pesticides to several states across the country. After receiving multiple complaints, the Rajasthan government launched an investigation. In the probe, the authorities found that the company’s product samples were of poor quality. As a result, an FIR was registered against the company, and its license was subsequently cancelled. In addition, the manufacturing, sale, and distribution of the company’s pesticide products have been banned with immediate effect.

“Farmers will get justice”- Shivraj Singh Chouhan
Addressing the media, he said, “I came to Chhirkheda in Vidisha. I had received a complaint that the soybean crop of the farmers was ruined due to weedicide. I decided to inspect it myself. Here I observed that there are weeds in the field instead of soybeans. A high-level team of scientists will inspect the fields. We will take strict legal action against the company. Farmers will be given complete justice. Additionally, a nationwide campaign will be launched against the companies providing substandard and fake medicines.”
