Mr. Chouhan said in a statement that the affected people will be consulted to share their perspective on the existing situation, and a detailed report will be submitted to the PM Modi.”
Over 4 Lakh Acres of Farmland Submerged in Punjab floods
Not only this, the state agriculture minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian requested that the Union Agriculture Minister provide immediate relief and financial support to combat the impact of floods. Furthermore, he demanded adequate compensation to aid affected farmers after nearly four lakh acres of the farm land were submerged, which led to threaten the food security in the state and the country. Mr. Khudian said standing crops on over 4 lakh acres of farmland had been submerged in the devastating floods. With paddy fields being the worst affected just weeks before harvesting season, he said the devastation has resulted in substantial losses for farmers and the state’s agricultural economy.
