Marking a major boost to the India dairy industry growth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated a ₹76.5-crore milk powder plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The project, established under the Indore Cooperative Milk Union with support from the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD), is designed to strengthen India’s dairy processing infrastructure and empower local farmers. Earlier PM also laid foundation stones for livestock and dairy projects worth Rs 1166 crore, alongside launching the PM-DDKY which are: PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses. The facility set up at Indore has a production capacity of 30 metric tonnes of milk powder per day, significantly enhancing milk processing efficiency, minimizing wastage, and ensuring value addition in the dairy supply chain.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Appreciated the Move to Boost India Dairy Industry Growth
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed gratitude to PM Modi and emphasized the state’s commitment to expanding its contribution to India’s total milk production. He appreciated and expressed gratitude towards PM Narendra Modi for his initiative to boost India Dairy Industry Growth. Mohan Yadav said that “Madhya Pradesh’s current share in national milk output is about 9%, and our goal is to increase it to 20% within the next five years,” he said. The Chief Minister further highlighted the government’s initiatives like the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, which ensure fair prices for farmers, particularly soybean and dairy producers.
PM Modi has been inaugurating several schemes like PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses , and also laid foundation stones for livestock and dairy projects worth Rs 1166 crore. The facility with an investment of ₹76.5-Crore also aligns with the government’s larger vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, promoting cooperative-driven development in the food and agriculture sector.
