CEO & founder of Paytm Vijay Shekhar Sharma met union minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goel. Both reportedly discussed the future of fintech, digital payments, and inclusive e-commerce in India.
During their meeting, Union Minister highlighted the government’s vision of making India a global fintech and digital payment powerhouse. Paytm, a digital payment app is Payment Through Mobile which is widely and commonly used only as its abbreviated name “Paytm”. The conversation aimed at exporting India’s-made payment systems to the world – notably Paytm has been a pioneering force with innovations like mobile payments, QR based payments, Soundbox, card machines and UPI-based services.
The meeting strongly was aimed at empowering neighbourhood Kirana stores and small business owners., the meeting explored a new way for the merchants to onboard the digital ecosystem- — improving access, transparency, and economic opportunity. No doubt, Paytm has been awarded with the ‘Most Trusted Brand of the Year’ award that depicts the trust of consumers.
