MRF Targets to Reach 1.8MT of Rice Exports in H2 FY 2025-2026

The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) aims to achieve the rice exports target of 1.8 million tonnes during the second half of the current financial year 2025-2026, with 300,000 tonnes of rice per month. Myanmar rice export exceeded 1.2 million in the first half (April-August) this FY, with the total rice data reaching US$408 million. Myanmar rice export data depicts the figure of total rice exported to China by Myanmar which is 346,919 tonnes and 247,985 non-premium rice, followed by the Philippines and Spain.

Myanmar conveyed 2.48 million tonnes of rice export in the FY 2024-2025, with an estimated value of over 1.12 billion. However, experts monitoring the rice trade say that despite a significant decline in global rice prices last month, rice prices are unlikely to fall. Myanmar’s rice export mainly depends on sea trade. Notably, Myanmar earned $1.29 billion by exporting 2.48 million tonnes of rice and broken rice in the financial year 2024-25.
