Monsoon Mayhem In Uttarakhand: Heavy Rains Triggers Flood in Dehradun

Monsoon this time in India has caused devastating results for several states in India including Punjab, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, and now in Uttarakhand. Monsoon mayhem in Uttarakhand has now triggered flash floods in several places in the state. The region has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last few weeks, resulting in floods, loss of human lives and property, while several feared been dead or missing.

As per the reports collected from reputed sources, a cloudburst occurred at late night in Sahastradhara, a natural site located near Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Followed by this, the heavy rainfall in the area caused flooding in the Tamsa river, which led to the washing away of several vehicles. Heavy rains and flood also submerged the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple, which was reportedly hit by flood at approx. 5 am. Several idols have reportedly been washed away and completely submerging the temple.

PM Narendra Modi &the Home Minister Assure All Possible Assistance to the Flood-Affected Areas

Reacting to the natural disaster, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in his post on X, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to him over the phone regarding the situation and assured all possible assistance.

Overnight Rain and Landslides Affected Himachal Pradesh Also

The monsoon mayhem was not limited only to Punjab, J&K, Uttarakhand but also affected the residents of Himachal Pradesh. Overnight rain at Dharmpur bus stand in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi caused landslides. Following the landslides and heavy rain, authorities have issues guidelines to close three national highways, and traffic on 493 roads is disrupted.

Apart from these states, heavy rains also created a havoc among the residents of Mumbai. Heavy rains in Mumbai, flooded railway tracks, subways, and roads. Whereas 11 villagers were airlifted by the Air Force in Beed.
