Soybean Reflects a Decrease in Stock Despite Increasing Soybean Production

India reportedly marked a significant rise in the production of soybean. As per the latest data released by SOPA the soybean processors association of India soybean production has increased to 125.82 lakh tonnes which was 118.74 lakh tonnes for the same period last year. Despite the increase in soybean production in the country, its stock has fall sharply for the next oil year.

Decrease in Soybean Stock Despite Increasing Production

The latest data released by the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA), the carry-forward stock of soybean for the oil year starting October 2025 is anticipated to be 6.86 lakh tonnes, which is 23 percent less than the stock of 8.94 lakh tonnes for the current oil year.

Decline in the Soybean Stock Market

Soybean exports have also declined to 15.60 lakh tonnes, which was 17.77 lakh tonnes during the October to June Period last year. Only 0.25 lakh tonnes of soybean have been imported so far which was 6.25 lakh tonnes last year. Domestic markets have also reported a slowdown in soybean consumption which is mainly attributed to the decrease in the arrival of soybean and the fall in demand.
