Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) invited Mr. K.L. Ganju Consul General (Hony.) of Comoros to share his views on World Environment Day 2025. World Environment Day 2025, hosted by the Republic of Korea spotlighted the urgent need to curb plastic pollution. To raise awareness among the public about the harmful effects of plastic on environment, Mr. K.L. Ganju Consul General (Hony.) of Comoros on Thursday, 5 June 2025 visited the studio of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) and expressed his concerns on the increasing use of plastic.
He urged people to “Say No to Plastic” as he requested everyone to stop using plastic products and take collective action to curb the use of plastic. He further added that use of plastic is creating havoc among the masses and is destructing the body of living beings. He stressed on gradually decreasing the use of plastic and take strict measures to stop the use of such particles as it is destructive for the coming generation as well.
He goes on suggesting several measures to curb the use of plastic that included carrying steel bottles and stop purchasing plastic bottles and other such bottles from market. For the unversed, Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5th June, he official theme for World Environment Day 2025 was “Beat Plastic Pollution”.
