Recently, PM shared a post on his social media handle promoting Natural farming. In addition to this, a team of research scholars from Hiroshima University, Japan, visited the state project Implementing unit of Rajiv Gandhi Prakritik Kheti Khushhal Kisan Yojana (RGPK3Y), Department of Agriculture, for an interaction with the officers on the agriculture scenario and natural farming.
Research scholars are touring India to study Farmers’ welfare and Natural Farming
The research scholars are touring to study farmers’ welfare in India, led by Professor Osamu Yoshida, from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The team was accompanied by Professor BS Chauhan, a visiting professor at HPU and Indira Medical College. The State Nodal Officer (RGPK3Y)-cum- Additional Director, Dr Suresh Kumar, informed that the Japanese Research Scholars regarding the agriculture sector in the hill state and gave a brief presentation on Rajiv Gandhi Prakritik Kheti Khushhal Kisan Yojana. He further said that the scheme is intended to promote non-chemical, low-cost, climate-resilient and environment-friendly natural farming techniques in the state. Interestingly, Professor Osama Yoshida and the research scholars from Japan expressed keen interest in the natural farming initiative and natural farming products.
PM Modi also promoted Natural farming
Not only this, but PM Modi took to X on Wednesday and stated that Natural farming will address challenges in agriculture, such as decreasing soil fertility, moisture and long-term sustainability and the increase in farming costs. Further, he issued a clarion call to people in India to adapt and expand natural farming practices.
