Japan Rice Prices Drop After weeks of steady increases,offering some relief to consumers. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the average price of rice at around 1,000 supermarkets across the country dropped to 4,260 yen per 5 kilograms, including tax, during the week ending May 25. This marks a 25 yen decrease from the previous week and is the first fall in prices in the past three weeks.
