Agri & BioWaste Conclave 2025 – Global Circular Economy & Trade Integration

The Agri & BioWaste Conclave 2025 brought together thought leaders, policymakers, agri-tech innovators, and sustainability experts from across India and beyond to chart a roadmap for a circular economy driven by agricultural and biowaste transformation. Among the key speakers at the event was Dr. Prasanta Kumar Swain, National Vice President of the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF). Dr. Swain addressed the gathering at a high-powered session on “Global Circular Economy & Trade Integration in Agri-Waste Value Chains” & stressed the importance of treating agricultural and biowaste as a tradeable asset rather than a disposal challenge.

Highlighting the figures, Dr. Swain, National Vice President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF), said that “India alone generates over 500 million tonnes of crop residue annually — what we do with this residue will define whether we build a sustainable tomorrow or remain trapped in linear inefficiency.”
