The Indonesian Quarantine Authority (IQA) has put a temporary ban on the import of groundnuts from India from 27 August 2025. The reason for this move is the Non-Compliance (NNC) Notification, which means that some significant rules or quality standards were not followed in the peanuts sent from India.
Indonesia’s Transition Period Amid This Temporary Ban
Not only this, Indonesia has also given a transition period during this temporary ban, in which shipments (Bills of Lading) can enter Indonesia for the next 7 days from the date of notice. However, they will be strictly checked and retested there. If any shipment is found to violate the rules, it will be directly rejected.
Temporary Ban continues till the Indonesian Authority issues New guidelines
This temporary ban will continue until the Indonesian Authority issues a new guideline or arrangement. In this situation, Indian exporters need to be very cautious and take full care of quality standards while exporting peanuts to Indonesia, so that exports are not affected in future. This decision has become a big challenge for the Indian groundnut export ban, and exporters will have to take necessary steps to improve the quality.
