India’s Major Agri Cooperatives Join Bharat International Rice Conference 2025

In the series of latest developments regarding the International Rice Conference, three of the country’s leading cooperative institutions, National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL), National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL), and KRIBHCO Agri Business, have confirmed their participation in Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC2025).

This significant development comes at a time when the global community is marking the International Year of Cooperatives, expanding the focus on inclusive, sustainable growth within agriculture. Notably, the participation of these cooperative giants highlights the growing synergy between India’s cooperative movement and its export-oriented agricultural strategy.

The largest rice conference is organized under the aegis of the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF),  and in association with APEDA and the Ministry of Commerce. Moreover, the conference will coordinate with the government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, promoting sustainable farming practices, resilient supply chains, and value-driven exports.

“BIRC is a global platform to showcase the strength, innovation, and farmer-first vision of India’s cooperative sector, from cutting-edge technologies to value-added products, India’s rice industry is ready to redefine quality and sustainability on the world stage,” said Dr. Prem Garg, National President of the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) and Chairman of Shri Lal Mahal Group.

The participation of NCEL, NCOL, and KRIBHCO Agri signals a unified front for India’s cooperative movement in taking high-quality, sustainably grown rice to international markets. These organizations play a significant role in aggregating produce from farmers, ensuring traceability, and supporting value addition through processing and branding.
