India And Argentina Sign A New Agricultural Work Plan To Boost Agricultural Research & Farm Cooperation

India and Argentina have signed a new agricultural work plan for 2025-27 to share agricultural research, new technologies, and training. The new agricultural work plan aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in sustainable agriculture, digital farming, and biotechnology. It will cover several areas, including crop production, animal husbandry, agricultural machinery, and the exchange of seeds and plant materials.

New agricultural work plan to provide opportunities to share modern technologies

The new work plan will provide farmers and scientists with opportunities to share modern technologies, training, and expertise. Furthermore, this initiative will deepen agricultural cooperation between India and Argentina and help enhance agricultural productivity and quality in both countries. Interestingly, it includes joint research, exchange of seeds and plant materials, expert training, and study tours. The focus will be on crops such as soybeans, sunflowers, maize, blueberries, citrus fruits, guavas, and certain vegetable crops.

India and Argentina to expand cooperation in pulse cultivation

India and Argentina are also expanding cooperation in oilseed and pulse cultivation, agricultural machinery, and horticulture value chains. In addition, both countries will share measures in the field of plant and animal health, such as foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) eradication and locust control. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to this partnership and agreed on annual monitoring and review to ensure the successful implementation of the plan. Additionally, it will provide farmers and scientists in both India and Argentina with opportunities to share new technologies, training, and experiences. It will also help increase agricultural production and quality and further strengthen agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
