As per the official statement, the announcement followed a courtesy visit by Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, who met the Chief Minister at Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh to discuss expanding cooperation between the two countries. In the meeting, both leaders explored possibilities for mutual partnerships, focusing on the need to adopt efficient technologies for sustainable development. The crucial point was the creation of a Centre of Excellence in Haryana to promote innovation and technological progress that includes artificial intelligence in priority sectors.

Furthermore, the Haryana Chief Minister also underscored the state’s ambitions for expanding the Integrated Aviation Hub in Hisar, which is anticipated to become a hub for international collaboration and economic growth.

Key Outcomes of the Meeting between CM Saini and Israeli Envoy

The crux of the meeting was enhancing overseas employment avenues for Haryana’s youth. The Chief Minister Saini said that around 180 youths from Haryana are currently working in Israel under numerous placement initiatives facilitated by the state’s Department of Foreign Cooperation. After the increasing demand from Israel to recruit 5,000 nurses from India, Haryana has shown strong interest in contributing more talent to Israel’s healthcare sector.

Not only this, the two sides held in-depth discussions on the potential establishment of a Global Artificial Intelligence Centre in Haryana. The proposed centre intends to train youth in Artificial Intelligence technologies, promote start-ups, and promote technological innovation that coordinates with global standards. The Chief Minister Saini highlighted the significance of Artificial Intelligence in modifying the future workforce and recognised Israel’s leadership in the domain. Interestingly, the adoption of Israeli proficiency in advanced irrigation and water recycling techniques in Haryana is anticipated to change the scenario in the state’s agricultural efforts.

In the area of water management, both sides committed to jointly exploring ways to treat and reuse wastewater for agricultural and drinking purposes, a key need for Haryana’s predominantly farming-based economy. Lastly, Chief Minister Saini offered a copy of the Bhagavad Gita to Ambassador Azar as a parting gesture, echoing a message of peace, culture, and shared values.
