Fragrance of Hapur’s Basmati Rice will Reach Abroad Now

Basmati rice grown in the Hapur district will be exported to Foreign nations now. Around three varieties of basmati rice have been planted in 50 hectares of area by uniting the efforts of 70 farmers of the FPO (farmers group).  Additionally, the crop will be prepared under the supervision of agricultural scientists. Under the cluster scheme, the succession of this initiative will lead to a Farmers’ incentive of around ten lakhs.

Notably, the cluster scheme started in the year 2019, with the objective of exporting agricultural produced output abroad through farmer groups. The

Paddy was planted in around 50 hectares of area by involving 70 farmers of FPO (Farmer Producer Organisation) under the leadership of Harshvardhan Tyagi. Moreover, the farmers have been provided paddy seeds of 1509, 1121, and Pusa Basmati species on a subsidy.

In addition, the Paddy cultivation has been started under Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). FPO President Harsh Tyagi said that the entire work, including sowing of paddy seeds and harvesting, will be done under the supervision of scientists. Paddy has been planted after the training of farmers.

Necessary to meet the standards for sale

The crops required for export will be prepared as per the standards. No banned pesticides will be used in the process. Farmers will be connected with exporters under the agricultural export policy. Successful exports will assure the farmers’ subsidy of up to ten lakhs. The price of paddy exported globally will also be appropriate.

Provision of a grant up to two crore

The government’s plan for FPO is going to make it self-reliant. In this, a grant of up to two crore rupees has also been arranged for setting up a goods processing and storage (processing unit), along with a grant of ten lakhs for proper export.

DM is the chairman of the committee.

Notably, an agriculture export committee has been formed in the district with the District Magistrate (DM)as its Chairman and the Chief Development Officer (CDO) as the vice-chairman. Harshvardhan Tyagi, representing the Farmers Producer Organisation, has been included as its member. During the review meeting, the The committee stressed the significance of making farmers self-reliant.
