FIR Against Four for Illegal Sales of Fortified Rice

An official release stated that the food department in Indore filed an FIR at Gandhi Nagar police station against four people for the illegal sale of fortified rice. Furthermore, the release stated that the FIR was filed against Rajesh Verma, Sonu Rajput, Murtaza Khan and Hemraj Yadav.

Investigation into the storage of fortified rice

Investigation in the case disclosed Yadav’s long-term involvement in illegal purchase, sale, and storage of fortified rice, often changing locations to avoid detection. In addition, the food department discovered illegal storage of wheat and rice at a warehouse in Jamburi Hapsi, Arihant Nagar. The warehouse, managed by Verma and Rajput, was found to be storing grains without proper documentation.

Additionally, officials spotlighted a passenger auto carrying rice, which was seized. Moreover, its driver, Murtaza Khan, was taken into custody. Besides this, the investigation revealed that the warehouse carried 101 sacks of rice, suspected to be fortified rice from the Public Distribution System and 127 sacks of wheat. Notably, the found grain was lacked the necessary bills and documentation. One of the miscreants disclosed the involvement of Yadav in the warehouse’s illegal operations. The seized grains were taken to the government warehouse in Rau.
