Fertiliser Shops Sealed In Fatehbad During the Inspection Drive

The Agriculture Department team conducted an inspection drive investigating fertiliser, pesticide and seed selling firms in several mandis of Fatehbad, Haryana. The records of all the firms were investigated, and matched available fertiliser stock with the data in the POS (Point of Sale) machine during the inspection drive.
Shockingly, in the course of an inspection drive, the owners of two firms, Kisan Agriculture Store and Guku Kripa Pesticide, abruptly closed their shops and fled. Both shops were sealed by the authorities at Fatehbad in Haryana. Strict action will be taken against them as per regulations. Not only this, but samples of fertiliser and pesticide were collected for the investigation and quality testing. Notably, all fertiliser sellers were instructed to follow the rules and regulations and ensure distribution of fertiliser only through POS (Point of Sale) machines.
The inspection drive was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. Ram Pratap Sihag, Joint Director (Cotton), Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Haryana, and the joint direction of Deputy Agriculture Director Dr. Rajesh Sihag, Quality Control Inspector and Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer.
Furthermore, Dr. Rajesh Sihag stated that the work of sowing Kharif crops is going on in the district, leading to a situation where farmers need fertiliser.
9075 MT DAP, 68436 MT Urea, 2404 MT MOP, 4138 MT NKP and 8126 MT SSP fertilisers have been received in the district so far. Fertilisers are being made accessible to the farmers as per their demand, and there is no shortage of fertilisers in the district. Farmers are being made aware that they can also use NPK and TSP/SSP as an alternative to DAP fertiliser. This year's sowing of Kharif crops has been completed in about 95 per cent area compared to last year's Kharif crops 2024.
