Recognized for his major contribution to India’s Rice Export landscape, Dr. Prem Garg the National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) was honoured with National Awards for Food & Business Innovations 2025 at the Hotel Imperial, Janpath, New Delhi on 11th August. The felicitation program, held at the Imperial Hotel, was aimed at honoring excellence in food & business innovation nationwide. Adding yet another feather in his illustrious cap, Dr. Prem Garg, the National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) was recognized for his major contributions towards the welfare of Indian Rice exporters.
Dr. Garg was felicitated with the People Who Inspires India Trophy for his commendable contributions to India’s export landscape and his efforts in helping India to achieve the feat of world’s largest rice exporter. The People Who Inspire Awards in Food & Processing Excellence 2025 was presented to business tycoons & entrepreneurs driving innovation, quality, and growth in India’s food and processing sectors.
India’s Rice Exports To Remain Resilient Despite US Tariff

Addressing the media queries post the award ceremony, Dr. Prem Garg the National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) expressed his gratitude towards the organisers for the event. When responding to media inquiries on US Tariff and its effect on Indian rice export sector, Dr. Garg said that he is confident that India, owing to its rice quality and export standards Indian rice export sector will have no impact despite US Tariff. He further stressed that India’s rice exports will remain resilient despite the tariff war.
Dr. Prem Garg the National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) shared information about the upcoming Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC 2025) the World’s Largest Rice Conference, to be held on 30–31 October 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. And invited all to attend the World’s Largest Rice Conference to further boost the Indian rice sector.
Dr. Prem Garg’s recognition comes at a time when the Indian Rice Export sector is experiencing unprecedented growth along with the prestigious tag of being the world’s largest rice exporter.
