In the series of latest developments, Dr. Prem Garg, National President of IREF, has extended congratulations to Rajesh Agarwal on his appointment as a Commerce Secretary.

During this congratulatory moment, Dr. Garg briefed Rajesh Agrawal about the initiatives already undertaken for the world’s largest rice conference, Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC), including national and international outreach, participation of industry stakeholders, and support from embassies across the globe.

The Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025 will serve as a premier global event dedicated to rice. The event is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on October 30–31, 2025. Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, through APEDA, the event intends to bring together governments, exporters, millers, buyers, logistics partners, and policymakers. The goal is to collaboratively strategize and stabilize the future of the global rice trade.
