Speaking on the topic “Virgin Land Security Summit 2025”, Dr. Prem Garg, National President of the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) said that the income of farmers can be increased by making the barren land suitable for agriculture. Dr. Garg National President of IREF emphasized on using the chemical free fertilizers and controlling the use of pesticides as they are negatively impacting the health of crops and humans as well.

To address this issue on a global platform and educate farmers about the harmful effects of pesticides on crops Dr. Prem Garg, National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF), informed that IREF is organizing the World’s Largest Rice Conference Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025 on October 30 & 31st, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi which will be attended by more than 1000 foreign buyers, exporters, and rice industry leaders. While receiving the memento from the organizers Market Times TV and Uday India, Dr. Prem Garg the National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) thanked the organizers of the program for their commendable move which will increase awareness among farmers.

Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Kanak Vardhan Dev, Shri. Bhagirath Choudhary Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, and Brijmohan Agrawal, MP from Raipur were among the key attendees at the National Conclave on Empowering Virgin Lands, Virgin Land Security Summit 2025.

Federation Targets 55% Increase in Rice Exports, Says Dr. Prem Garg – National President of IREF

The National President of Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF), Dr. Prem Garg said that our primary objective is to ensure that farmers receive the best possible price for their produce. Presenting the figure of rice stock and export, Dr. Garg further added that India holds 59 million tonnes of excess rice stock. India presently exports 22 million tonnes of rice annually. Informing about his recent meeting with Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Mumbai Dr. Garg said that he aims to raise the export from 45% to 55%. The strategy also involves encouraging the cultivation of pulses across states to make India a 100% agriculture-driven nation, reducing dependency on imports.
