CM applauded KMF and US-based Mysuru Native Kumar for Nandini Ghee Exports
CM Siddaramaiah applauded KMF and US-based Mysuru native Kumar, who has secured the agency for Nandini ghee exports , citing that the partnership would help expand the brand’s footprint abroad.KMF supplied around 5,000 tonnes of ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) over the past year for use in the famous laddu prasadam, an increase of more than 30% compared to last years. TTD’s partnership with Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), adhered to quality concerns associated with adulterated ghee from other vendors, leading to Nandini’s reinstatement as the exclusive supplier.
Rising demand has drawn illicit activity
In addition, rising demand has drawn illicit activity. Bengaluru police recently busted a counterfeit racket involving fake Nandini pouches filled with adulterated ghee, seizing 8,136 liters of spoiled stock. At same time, KMF increased the retail price of ghee by Rs 90 per kg earlier this month and cited global production costs. Notably, the new price of Rs 700 per litre has triggered concerns among consumers.
KMF achieved a major production milestone in May 2025, collecting 1 crore litres of milk in a single day. Not only this, KMF is following the global hygiene norms, enhancing packaging, increasing cold-chain logistics and strengthening certification systems.
