Applications are invited for Kerala State Farmers Awards 2024

The Kerala State Government has invited applications for the Kerala State Farmers Awards 2024 to represent the farmers and their efforts who have performed exceptionally in the agricultural field of Kerala. The awards are initiated by the Department of Agricultural Development and Farmers Welfare to recognise and encourage performances in the farming field of the state. This year too, applications and nominations have been invited for awards in 46 categories. Notably, there are six new categories introduced this year, as 40 categories were already recognised last year. The newly added categories focused on recognising numerous contributions within the agricultural sector as well as highlighting the efforts of farmers who have contributed tremenduously in Kerala’s Agricultural sector.
These newly added categories include awards for differently-abled farmer (Rs. 50,000 cash prize, plaque and certification), best start up in agricultural sector (Plaque and certificate) , Krishi Bhavan Performance Award for excellence in implementing Special agricultural department schemes (Rs, 1 lakh cash prize, plaque and certificate) and awards for best performing officials such as Joint Director of Agriculture, Deputy Director of Agriculture and Engineer in Agricultural sector, each receiving a plaque and certificate.
Interested Farmers can submit their applications at their respective Krishi Bhavan. The submission must include the completed application Form, important agricultural land documents, and details of agricultural activities conducted. Applications forms and detailed guidelines are available at the official website of the Department of Agriculture. www.keralaagriculture.gov.in. whereas the last date of submitting the application forms at the Krishi Bhavan is July 23, 2025. Farmers selected for the awards in each category will be felicitated at a public function organised at the state level on Chingam Onna Farmers' Day, celebrating their hard work and contribution to Kerala’s agricultural sector.
