On Friday, August 15, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the Agricultural Scientists to visit village farms between October 3 to October 18 for better rabi crops this year. He ensures that the agricultural scientists will provide guidance to the farmers. Speaking on the Occasion of the 79th Independence Day, while interacting with the farmers, he also reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting farmers’ interests.
Union Agri Minister stressed on safeguard farmers’ interests
The Farmers were the chief guests for the Independence Day celebrations at Pusa Campus in New Delhi. According to an official statement, before them, Agriculture Minister Chauhan stressed that safeguarding the interests of farmers, dairy farmers, and fishermen is the government’s top priority. Not only this, but he also assured them that no agreement would ever be signed that harms the interests of Indian farmers.
An Oath For the Swadeshi Movement
Additionally, the Agriculture Minister led an oath with farmers to adopt the Swadeshi movement, citing Prime Minister Modi’s call to endorse local products. He asserted that buying indigenous goods would not only boost the economy but also generate large-scale employment in the country. He cited examples like purchasing earthen lamps from potters during the occasion of Diwali and focused on how supporting local producers can strengthen rural communities.
He paid tribute to Freedom Fighters on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day celebrations and highlighted the significance of independence, saying that it was gained through immense sacrifice, not simply handed over by the British. He also underscored the Operation Sindoor, noting India’s strength, citing that the country does not provoke but will never spare those who challenge it. Eventually, he asserted that today’s peace is enjoyed because of the courage of the soldiers who protect the nation’s borders.
