IGNOU Launches PG Diploma In Agricultural Cost Management, MA In Bhagavad Gita And Other Courses

IGNOU has launched Master’s Programme in several fields, including PG Diploma in Agriculture Cost Management, which intends to promote sustainable agricultural practices by teaching cost management, enhancing yields, and improving farmer livelihoods. Not only this, the Open University has offered other specialised courses, including a postgraduate diploma in Disaster Management, a Master’s in Bhagavad Gita studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Home Science. These programmes will be conducted under the School of Humanities at IGNOU.

PG Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management

The PG Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management will be conducted by IGNOU’s School of Agriculture in collaboration with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI). The key objective of this course is to encourage sustainable agricultural practices by teaching cost management, improving yields, and enhancing farmers’ livelihoods. Additionally, the course will support agribusiness training, preparing students to navigate the competitive, high-tech, and fluctuating agriculture market, encouraging entrepreneurship among farmers, traders, and other stakeholders

Other courses in Disaster Management and Home Science

The PG diploma in Disaster Management will provide training to students so that they can respond effectively to numerous disasters like floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, and landslides. Not only this, the course also includes disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery, and rehabilitation. Additionally, the new Bachelor of Arts in Home Science programme offer a comprehensive education and awareness in areas like Human Development, Family Studies, Nutrition, Resource Management, Fabric and Apparel Sciences, and Extension Education. It is designed to meet the rising demand for specialisation in these areas and to improve employability through practical and theoretical learning. Notably, all the programmes are aligned with the framework of the University Grants Commission and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, providing a blend of theory and skill-based learning.
