The Bihar Agriculture Department has launched a Fig Fruit Development Scheme to promote fig cultivation in the state. Under this scheme, Bihar farmers will get a huge subsidy on fig cultivation. The objective of this scheme is to offer financial support and incentives to the farmers cultivating fig fruit in the state.
About 40 per cent subsidy to Bihar Farmers
Farmers will get around 40 per cent subsidy on fig cultivation. The Agriculture Department has fixed the cost of fig production per hectare at Rs 1.25 lakh. In this way, farmers will get a total of Rs 50,000 as a subsidy.
The amount of subsidy will reach the farmers’ accounts in two instalments. The first instalment of Rs 30,000 will be received in the current financial year. At the same time, the second instalment of Rs 20,000 will be transferred in the upcoming financial year. Fig Fruit Development Scheme
Fig Fruit scheme to be implemented in 32 districts
The Fig Fruit development scheme will be implemented in 32 districts of the state. These include Arwal, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gopalganj, Jehanabad, Lakhisarai, Madhepura, Saran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Supaul, Araria, Aurangabad, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, East Champaran, Jamui, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Madhubani, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Patna, Gaya, Rohtas, Purnia, Samastipur, Vaishali and West Champaran.
