Tripura Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated a tree plantation program under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign at Chinmoy Harijoy School and urged the audience to plant more and more trees to maintain the balance of nature.
While addressing the audience, he said: “More and more trees should be planted to maintain the balance of nature. The temperature of the Earth is increasing gradually. Planting trees is very important to reduce the temperature. Everyone should plant a tree in the name of their mother, son or daughter or on their birthday. Only then will the balance of the Earth will be maintained.”
Not only this, but the agriculture minister and several other guests present at the occasion planted numerous tree saplings in the school premises.
Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, the Campaign began
Additionally, Ratan Lal Nath stated that the number of people in the world is increasing, but the number of trees is decreasing. Significantly, a campaign named Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam has been started to encourage the tree planting program. The citizens of our country have embraced this program to protect the environment with the growing about tree plantation. He requested everyone to plant more and more trees.
About ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Organised on August 6 as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, this tree plantation program was initiated by the Mohanpur Municipal Council. Saplings were given to the school students and their guardians on behalf of the Mohanpur Municipal Council on this day. Furthermore, the event was graced by the Chairperson of Mohanpur Municipal Council, Kanika Debnath, Vice Chairperson Shankar Deb, member of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Joylal Das, SDM of Mohanpur Subhash Datta and Councillors of the Municipal Council.
