In a strict move to withstand with fertilizer quality and regulatory compliance, the Agriculture Department in Rajasthan, India, raided and seized a warehouse in Narpat Ki Khedi village where 319 bags of illegal fertilizer stocks were found at an illegal fertilizer storage operation in Chittorgarh district. The seized inventory included 115 bags of bio-fertilizer (labelled CHAKD) and 204 bags of organic manure. The raid took place at a facility operated by Bherunath Enterprises and an adjoining cattle feed warehouse, where fertilizers were being stored without the required licenses.
Legal Action Against Offenders
Two individuals named Ladu Lal Jat and Khalkeshwar Tiwari, hailing from Bhilwara district were fount at the site and have been arrested under India’s Fertilizer Control Order (1985) and the Essential Commodities Act (1955). First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against them at the Chittorgarh Sadar Police Station.
The samples from the seized stock have been sent for laboratory analysis.
Aimed at Protecting Farmers & Input Integrity
The Rajasthan Agriculture Department stated that this raid is a part of a broader campaign to safeguard farmers from substandard and counterfeit agricultural inputs. The department is aimed at ensuring the availability of only high-quality, certified inputs for the farming community.
